Visitors must bring an ID every time they visit. No minors are allowed at Madison – Foster CCC. For minors to visit at Madison – Dwight Drive, approval must be first granted by the Case Manager with 72 hours notice. Minors may visit Madison – Schwert House as long as a guardian is present with the minor at all times. Minors may visit Green Bay – Marshall House with a 96 hour notice and approval by staff. No visitors for the first 7 days after arrival at Appleton – Addams House.
What do I need to bring when visiting a client at a halfway house? What can I bring?
An individual visiting a client will need to have a Government Issue photo ID (driver license, passport, military ID, etc.). The visitor cannot be an individual whom themselves are currently on probation/parole.
A visitor can bring: money (which will need to be turned into staff upon arrival), clothing, hygiene products, and cigarettes.

How do I contact a client at one of our locations?
If it is not an emergency, the client cannot receive personal calls for the first 7 days, but after that they could call the payphone and they will need to get the number from the client.
If there is an emergency, they can call the office phone for the facility.
Can someone give me rides to and from the halfway house?
Yes. All drivers must have a valid driver’s license, insurance, and registration. All drivers must be approved by the Case Manager or Senior Behavioral Support Specialist. No one on probation or parole is allowed to drive clients.
Can my children visit me at the halfway house?
Minors/children visits vary by halfway house. Please check with the house before bringing minors on the property.
How does someone get referred to the halfway house?
All referrals are made through the Probation and Parole agents of the Department of Corrections.
How long are the halfway house programs?
Programs in the halfway house last 90 – 120 days, depending on the program. Federal clients are generally referred for 25-30 days total.
